Wendy’s High School Heisman – Available to high school athletes who excel in the classroom as well as on the field & within the community.  Apply at www.wendyshighschoolheisman.com/  Deadline is 10-2-17.



Coca Cola Scholarship- is an achievement-based scholarship. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Prudential Spirit of Community Awards – For students who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Eligibility: available for 5th – 12th graders, be a legal resident of the US, have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred during the 12 months prior to the date of the application. Deadline to apply is November 7, 2017.


Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship – 500 four year scholarships will be awarded to the highest-rated applicants in the competition. Any high school senior who is a US Citizen may apply. Sixt Scholarship – 5 awards each of $5,000 will be given to winning candidates.  Eligibility: be a graduating senior within the US; Plan to enroll full time in undergraduate study at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university; have a minimum GPA of 3.7 o n a 4.0 scale. Deadline is November 30, 2017.

Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers – Seniors planning to enroll in physics teacher preparation are eligible for a stipend of up to $2,000. Scholarship may be granted to an individual for each of four years. Eligibility: enrolled or accepted in accredited 2 or 4 year college or university; planning to pursue course of study toward a career in physics teaching in the high schools; showing promise of success in studies; citizen of the US.  Deadline to apply is December 1, 2017.

Horatio Alger Scholarship program assists high school students who have faced & overcame great obstacle in their lives. Voice of Democracy Scholarship – Open to 9th -12th grade students. Submit a 3-5 minute essay on audio CD or flash drive directly to the VFW Post within your area. Deadline is October 31, 2017.

WV Lions Youth Camps & Exchange Scholarship Contest – Eligibility: enrolled in high school grades 10-12; age 16-21 by 6-1-18; a WV resident. At least 6 applicants will receive $1,200 travel grants to encourage youth to experience cultures of other countries by cultural youth exchange which includes 4-6 week stay with one or more host families.  Deadline is November 15, 2017. Application packet is located on the bulletin board by the Guidance Office.

GE-Reagan Foundation ScholarshipRecipients receive $10,000 renewable scholarship- up to $40,000. Eligibility: demonstrate attributes of leadership, drive, integrity & citizenship; GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale; be a US citizen; current high school senior planning to enroll as a full time student towards a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four year college or university. United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship - $1,000 awarded to high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post -secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. Mensa Scholarship ProgramAwards ranging from $300-$1,000 awarded on local, regional & national levels.  Open to students who are US citizens enrolled next academic year in a degree program in an accredited college or university. IUE-CWA Circle W Scholarship – Awards $00 (a total of $1,200) for up to 3 seniors. Any Marion County senior may apply but preference will be given to children of former IUE-CWA members. Must submit a 300-500 word essay including the following: Community involvement/volunteer work; career goals & aspirations; & what the labor movement means to you & what impact it has had on your life. Kenneth Christensen & Russell Hymas Scholarship - $1,000 will be awarded to a qualifying student.  Student must be enrolled or accepted to a University or College; Must provide enrollment/acceptance for scholarship to be released; GPA of 3.5 or higher. Fairmont State University Scholarships



Presidential Scholarship – Fairmont State’s premier academic scholarship-includes tuition, room and board, and book stipend.

Awarded to three of the state’s top high school seniors. Applicants must be a Promise recipient; submit a completed Presidential Scholarship application and essay; have cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher; have ACT composite of 26 or 1190 SAT total score; participate in an interview.  Deadline is February 1, 2018. Promise Beyond - Provides additional funding to the Promise Scholarship recipients to allow the scholarship to cover the full tuition. To be eligible students must be a Promise recipient. Deadline is March 1, 2018. Go to www.fsuforme.com/promise


Hunt-Arnold Diversity Scholarship - $5,476 awarded for a maximum of 8 semesters or until program completion whichever occurs first. Renewal of scholarship is determined at the conclusion of each spring semester.  Open to all incoming freshman. Applicants must be a US citizen or permanent resident; must be a WV resident; submit personal essay; submit at least 2 signed letters of reference for school official, teacher, member of a community organization or employer.
