COVID-19 ARCHIVE

Teachers accessing You Tube videos to augment instruction

12/2/2020

Any video that is blocked by the state content filter (shows the blue box with the "x" on it) would need to be whitelisted before it can be viewed.  This applies to teacher created channels too.  If a teacher creates a channel, we need the link (copy the address bar or share link) sent to us to have the state unblock the channel.  Once that is done any video inside the channel that is set to "Public" should be automatically available within 48 hours of being posted.  If the video is set to "Private" or "Unlisted", we would need the link to that video sent to us to whitelist before it would be available".

Any video that is not blocked by the filter should be watchable on the Chromebooks no matter if they go into Clever or classroom first.  Please have your teachers try the link on a school issued laptop/desktop/virtual desktop (Not their own personal laptop) first to see if it is blocked.  If it is, all we need is the link.

Marion County Schools Update

4/27/2020

Each year we celebrate with many activities and events at the end of the school year.  This year is different under the circumstances, to make them a reality.  We have heard from students and the community through various types of messaging that the majority still want a delayed in-person graduation.  It is our hope and goal to make that happen.

Principals, student government groups, and central administration have worked together to move forward with plans for graduation.  To date we have planned a graduation video and delayed in-person ceremonies.
