Student Health Requirements

West Virginia Department of Education Policy 2423 - Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, requires that all students must be up to date on mandatory immunizations and may not attended without proof of required immunizations.  No grace period will be considered and students entering Pre-K, Kindergarten, 2nd, 7th & 12th grades must also show proof of a dental examination and Health Check examination within 45 days of entry into school.

ALL incoming 7th graders for the 2022-2023 school year must have proof of a well child visit by a physician or advanced practice provider, proof of a dental examination by a dentist, and proof of required immunizations (Tdap - tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) AND (MCV4 - meningococcal/meningitis). 

Students may NOT attend school OR participate in extra-curricular events (including practices, games, or performances) without proof of required immunizations.  This information can be found on our county website - marionboe.com.  Any questions please email our school nursing staff.

New Policy being implemented for the 2022-2023 school year:

**Emergency Prescribed Medication Parental Requirements **Important Information – WVBE Policy 2422.7-10.1.g – Medication Administration requires emergency prescribed medications be available in the school building WITH a Marion County School Medication Order form completed by both the guardian and the doctor prior to attending school. **

**If student requires emergency medications, they may NOT attend school without the medication AND completed order form. **
