Picture Day is coming up on September 30 & November 16! No order is due now. You may receive an email shortly after Picture Day to view and order the picture. Proof Flyers will be delivered to the school approximately 10-14 days after Picture Day. Time to start thinking about the outfit! Tip: Solid colors or patterns look best. Try to avoid green, white and shirts with graphics.

Today, September 6, Monongah Elementary was under a Code Yellow - precautionary lockdown - as advised by the Marion County Sheriff's and Monongah Police Departments. At no time was anybody at Monongah Elementary in danger. I want to publicly thank our students and staff for following protocol and doing exactly as they were asked throughout this situation.
Monongah Elementary Families:
During the period of Sept. 6-16, 2022, MCS will be administering a survey to students, teachers, and families. The WE SUPPORT Survey is designed to inform schools and districts about expectations and perceptions the community has about student learning. The survey is structured around three
main areas:
• Rigor
• Relevance
• Relationships
To take the survey, parents/guardians do the following:

2022-2023 School Calendar
Sign up for the Bob DeVaul Memorial Basketball Clinic and Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s on July 9, 9-1 at NMHS. Registration is open to any youth in K-5th grade. The camp is absolutely free and participants will be doing drills with legendary basketball players. If you don't sign up in advance, it will be a $20 fee at the gate to do the camp in the morning. See https://forms.gle/qtmUNyhSkJCm9PVi8. The afternoon events (3 Point Shootout, Dunk Contest, & Celebrity Game) will be free for kids k-12th grade. All-star game with former WVU and Globetrotters playing to follow. Adults will be charged $5 to enter these events.
Due to a high chance of thunderstorms Thursday, we are having Field Day tomorrow. Send water with your child. One of the stations is a water relay so send a change of clothes also.
Please send a water bottle to school with your child. We have handed out all of our water bottles and cups.
We no longer have water fountains, only water filling stations. Every child needs a water bottle.
If your child has medication at school, it needs picked up on June 2, the last day of school. Medication WILL NOT be sent home with students. If other arrangements need to be made, please call Nurse Wanda.
Fourth Grade Graduation and Kindergarten, first, second and third grades music festival are on for tomorrow, May 26.
Graduation begins at 10:00, third grade at 12:30, second grade at 1:00, first grade at 1:30 and Kindergarten at 2:00.
Please be respectful of the show following your child(ren)'s and swiftly move for those waiting so the next show can begin on time.
There will be sign-out sheets outside if you would like to take your child home.
