Hey Ram Fam!!! We're off to a great start and we just wanted to thank our teachers, parents, students, and community for a wonderful start to the year. We're thrilled to share some news on our climb. We continue to climb in our test scores and have seen the highest i-Ready proficiency scores we've ever had. i-Ready combines scores for students k-8. Our Reading was at 59% "on or above grade level" and our Math was 55% "on or above grade level." The reading is a 23% increase from three years ago, while Math is a 12% increase. The spring WVGSA, which is the state test for 3rd -8th grade students, resulted in the highest ELA proficiency we've had in the past 10 years. Our Math scores put us above the county and state proficiency levels. Please see the attached document that highlights our WVGSA Scores. We're thrilled that we continue to improve, but we aren't done climbing yet!!!! Also, the Local School Improvement Council (LSIC) will be held on September 14th with the PTO meeting. It is an opportunity to be on a team that focuses on improving our school. It gives parents and community members the chance to work with school leadership to continue our climb. #togetherweclimb

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Today we met with our middle school students to review important information about upcoming WVGSA testing and expectations for the days ahead. We talked about the importance of being ready, respectful, and responsible each day and reminded everyone to be:

Ready: Charge your Chromebooks, Come prepared, arrive on time, bring a positive attitude.
Respectful: Listen carefully to teachers; stay quiet to keep the testing environment distraction-free.
Responsible: No cellphones or electronics. Try your best—take your time, stay motivated.
Showcase how far you've climbed! We're counting on students to do their best for themselves, their families, and our school. Stay on track during testing. Focus: show up ready, act respectfully, work responsibly. It's just another step—steady effort from everyone. Together, we climb!

8th graders met with the FSHS counselor today about freshman scheduling. Tomorrow, they’ll meet with Mr. Egidi to complete their scheduling plan and bring it home for parent review and signature. Families: Report cards are being sent home today. Attendance and DOJO reports are included with the report card. Please review and discuss this information with your student.

Don't forget Dr. Seuss night is on Monday, March 9th. Please be sure to attend if you registered.

Middle school students received progress reports today. Attendance reports have also been sent home. Some elementary students received their reports last week. Please review the reports with your student(s). We are in the second half of the year, and absences will be addressed on an individual basis, but this is an extremely important time of the year. Our goal is for students to miss less than 10 days during the school year.

All students affected by the rock slide in Baxter that are unable to make it to school will be marked excused. If your student is not a bus rider, please contact the school starting at 8 or send a message to a teacher through class dojo.

Hey Ram Fam! We hope you're staying warm during this cold spell. Please make sure students are completing their Climate Control assignments. Parent Teacher Conference is scheduled for Next Wednesday from 3:30 - 6:30. Also, the Social Studies Fair is still scheduled for Tuesday, February 3rd. Students must bring their projects and all required materials to school on Monday.

Here are a few dates to be aware of: August 7th, 8th, and 11th for new student registration from 9 - 2. August 18th for Open House. We run a session at 5:00 and another at 6:00. Incoming 6th graders will have a different schedule and will be notified separately. Please fill out your WVEIS 2.0 email information if you haven't done so yet.
