Here are a few dates to be aware of: August 7th, 8th, and 11th for new student registration from 9 - 2. August 18th for Open House. We run a session at 5:00 and another at 6:00. If anyone is interested in coaching boys and girls cross -country please email Mr. Furgason at rfurgaso@k12.wv.us. You must be WVSSAC certified. There is a coaching class scheduled for next week in Bridgeport that would allow anyone to become certified and the board of education approved by the start of the season.

We would like to invite you to our 3rd Annual RAM-JAM: A Celebration of Arts and Healthy Minds on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm. The event will showcase the talents of our Art, Band, and Choir students. Rivesville students will perform for our community with art displays, a choir concert, and a band performance. As May is Mental Health Awareness Month, we aim to bring people together for a positive evening focused on mental health awareness. We will also have mental health and community resource tables with activities, information, and support available for attendees. The Rollie Pollie Egg Roll Factory food truck will be on site serving their popular handcrafted specialty egg rolls and more. Some seating is available, but it's recommended to bring your own outdoor chair.

Please join us to offer thoughts and considerations that will help us continue our climb. One item of importance is a girls restroom renovation in the main building. We have a menu switch for Wednesday and Thursday. The Thanksgiving lunch will be on Wednesday instead of Thursday. Thursday will be calzones.

Middle school students enjoyed a very special guest speaker today. We’re kicking off our “Where Have You Climbed To?” alumni campaign this month and Mr. Bob Tinnell spoke today. Bob is a celebrated author, movie director and producer, and a gem to Marion and especially Rivesville. Bob made “Feast of the Seven Fishes,” which was filmed in Rivesville and Fairmont. He is currently working on several projects for Lifetime and they’re filmed in the area as well.

We had a chili cook off and learned some fun facts about pumpkins from The Pumpkin Farm at Saltwell. Our PTO is having some great guests and activities at their meetings. There was a station for kids to make crafts too. Please come out and join us in November.

Mr. Rick Parker continues to support Rivesville. He has always been proud of his roots and strives to give back to the community. He has donated to many school initiatives over the years and made a visit today to donate to the school and PTO. Both will use the funds to support student programs

Rivesville Elementary/Middle Families: During the period of Sept. 6-16, 2022, MCS will be administering a survey to students, teachers, and families. The WE SUPPORT Survey is designed to inform schools and districts about expectations and perceptions the community has about student learning. The survey is structured around three main areas: • Rigor • Relevance • Relationships To take the survey, parents/guardians do the following: • Go to www.wesurvey.org • Enter the case sensitive password that is unique to your child’s school (copy > paste works best): CMC15RV •When all questions have been answered, click Submit for your responses to be recorded. Thank you in advance for completing this survey by Sept. 16, 2022. You need to complete one for each school in which your children are enrolled, using the code for that building above. The insight you provide will be valuable in our ongoing efforts to improve student achievement. WE SUPPORT survey takes 10-15 minutes to complete. Your responses are anonymous, so please answer all questions honestly. Please try to provide your perceptions and expectations of your child’s school or district overall. Thank you.
