Based upon the documented positive student COVID-19 cases of 10 percent or greater of 7th grade as of January 11, 2022, the East Fairmont Middle School 7th grade is closed for a 7 day period beginning Friday, January 14. Students in 7th grade at EFMS will return to classes if symptom free on Friday, January 21. Students will receive assignments for this time period via google classroom and/or livegrades and staff will be available during regular school hours to answer questions (their health permitting.). There are no extracurricular activities for the 7th grade students during that time period. All staff report.
Tonight’s girls’ basketball match up against West Fairmont Middle is cancelled. We will try to reschedule for a later date.
8th grade students are currently learning some tennis basics during their phys ed classes.

Friday - Casual Friday - Sweats or PJs
Students must follow the school dress code. All clothing must be school appropriate.

Marion County Schools (MCS) has worked closely with the Marion County Health Department (MCHD) to provide COVID vaccine opportunities for your child. MCS will not be offering clinics. If you wish for your student, age 5 and over, to receive the COVID vaccine the MCHD has opened a link for you to schedule a time that is best for you. You are not obligated to use this clinic option, as there are many local physicians and pharmacies offering the vaccine as well.

Starting tomorrow, East Fairmont Middle's notification system will automatically call parents whose students are listed as having an unexcused absence for that day at approximately 6 pm. If you have questions about receiving a call, please call the school during regular hours the next business day. Remember to send a doctor's note or parent note when the child returns to insure that absences are excused. Thank you!
