Monongah Middle School

Attention all Monongah Middle School 6th Graders who are advancing to 7th grade and All Athletes: There are going to be Sports Physical-Immunization Clinics that MVA and MCHD are coming together to provide. The clinics will be held at NMHS on Tuesday, May 21 from 8:30-1:30. There are TWO DIFFERENT CLINICS happening at the same time. There is a DIFFERENT PACKET for each clinic. 1. Sports Physical Clinic- MVA will be providing free sports physicals. The MVA CONSENT and the SPORTS PHYSICAL FORM will both need signed and returned to the nurse to be scheduled. 2. Immunization Clinic- The MCHD will be providing required immunizations. The MCHD CONSENT will need to be signed and returned to the nurse to be scheduled. Please contact the school at 304-367-2164 to obtain a packet.

Yearbook order forms have gone home with students. Yearbooks are $25 each this year and can be ordered by returning the form, along with cash payment, to Mrs. Suplita at the school, or online by going to ybpay.com and entering the ID code 14977424. All orders are due by Monday, May 20th.

The buses are going through Morgantown now. Please be at the big gym to pick up your child. You will have to sign them out with a teacher before they can leave. Students had a ton of fun today and we thank you for allowing them to go with us.

Fifth and sixth grade students are leaving BizTown now. We are scheduled to arrive back at school at 4:30. We will let you know when we are closer to the school.

Parents, cold and flu season is here. Please remember, if your child is symptomatic or they are sent home because they are symptomatic, your child needs to remain home until 24 hours symptom free, without medication. Thank you for your consideration for other children at the school.

Attention Monongah Middle School Families: This is your friendly reminder that MMS does not accept deliveries for students at the school at any time. Students will be taking the ELA reading benchmark, tomorrow, February 7. Students should bring their charged Chromebooks and corded headphones to school with them. Wireless, Bluetooth headphones are not permitted.

Reminder: Coming up this week will be Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday from 3:30-6:30 pm. Tuesday will be the math benchmark test. Wednesday will be the reading benchmark test. Thursday will be the writing benchmark test and Friday will allow for makeup benchmark tests. Please charge your Chromebook and bring your charger to school.

After-School Tutoring for today, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 has been cancelled. Tutoring will resume Thursday, January 4.

Wear your Black and Silver Husky Gear tomorrow, Thursday, November 30, to support the North Marion Huskies. We will be making a short video before school to send to the North Marion Football Team to cheer them on for Friday.

Just a reminder...Picture Day will be tomorrow, October 25 at Monongah Middle School. All students will be photographed as these are the photos used for yearbook. Thank you and have a great evening.

Due to a scheduling conflict, Picture Day at Monongah Middle School has been cancelled for tomorrow and is now rescheduled for Wednesday, October 25.

Welcome back Monongah Middle families! We can't wait to get this year started and see all of our students again. One change for the upcoming school year is morning arrival time. We are unable to have anyone on duty for supervision until 8:00, therefore, doors won't be open until 8:00 am for students to begin entering the building. Dismissal begins at 3:21. Have a great year!

Monongah Middle families, Nurse Angela will be at the school from 5-7 on Thursday, August 17 for the Open House. Any student, from any grade and bring her shot records, medications, or doctor's orders. She can also answer any questions you may have.

Parents have been asking for supply lists. I have copied the list from last year so hopefully this is still pretty accurate. Suggested School Supply List for MMS All teachers: tissues, pencils 5th Grade: 2 VINYL pocket folders with pockets and prongs 6th Grade: 2 three ring binders (1.5 inch) 2 one subject notebooks 1 composition notebook 2 folders Tabbed dividers 7th & 8th Grade ELA-Science & SS: One folder and loose leaf paper for EACH class 7th grade math: 1” binder and 3 tabbed dividers 8th grade math: 2 1-subject notebooks, 1 folder, dry erase markers and 4 AAA batteries Spanish: 1 folder with paper OR notebook Highlighter Colored pencils Art: students can bring their own art supplies if they wish, but classroom supplies are available. On the last day of school, tomorrow, May 31, Monongah Middle School will be participating in a Code Red drill at 10 am. This is only expected to last approximately 5 minutes. Once again, this is only a drill. It is practice for students and staff. Thank you and have a good evening.
