PreK and Kindergarten Teachers are busy "buzzing about the addition" preparing for the opening of school.

East Dale wants to send out a HUGE thank you to all of the families who stepped up to help us today in our “Step Right UP….its Field day”. We had a great time celebrating with our learners, staff, and community. Thanks to the PTO for organizing the event and to all the volunteers, THANK YOU. Our day would not have been so successful without all of you!

Reading is "SNOW" Much Fun! Khalil McIver, WBOY Meteorologist, brought Snowbird to the school to recognize those learners who participated in the Summer Reading Challenge. Ms. Nichols, Media Specialist, hosted the event for our learning community.

Let's Go... Mountaineers! East Dale Champions met the West Virginia University Mountaineer at the Special Olympics.

East Dale and Meadowdale will release at 9 AM on May 15, 2023 due to power outage.

Stinger Store Lunchtime Activity -> “It’s going to be DICEY!” The CHALLENGE involves building a “dice tower” in the “spoon basin”. The winner of the challenge is determined by the person who has the taller tower after 30 seconds.

Stinger Store Lunchtime Activity -> “A Balancing Act” The CHALLENGE involves balancing a broom on its bristles. The winner of the challenge is determined by the person whose broom “stands alone” for at least 5 seconds

For ALL 3rd and 4th grade learners who have perfect attendance during the WVGSA Testing will be celebrated with a “sweet celebration”!! Let’s make it 100% in attendance!!!!!!

Stinger Store Lunchtime Activity -> “Finding breakfast to be PUZZLING?” The CHALLENGE involves reconstructing a cereal box front that has been cut into multiple pieces. The winner of the challenge is determined by the person who reconstructs his/her cereal box first.

Stinger Store Lunchtime Activity -> “Chip Chip CHEERIO” The CHALLENGE: In a one-minute time period, thread as many cheerios from a bowl of cheerios onto a pipe cleaner. The winner of the challenge is determined by the person who threads the most cheerios at the end of the timeframe.

Family Literacy Fair... Ms. Buchko will be showcasing artwork from our artists at the Fair on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. For a sneak peek, look at the images that are attached to this post.

Honoring Our Military Families... Day 4: "RED-dy" for a Salute -> Ms. Buchko, East Dale Elementary School's Art Teacher, had her artists to create artistic salutes to honor Our Military Families.

Honoring Our Military Families... Day 3: Red, White, & Blue - We Love You! Day -> The Fairmont WV Army National Guard represented by Sergeant Wikle and Captain Keffer brought their HMMWV to the East Dale Elementary Campus as part of our Military Families' Month Celebration. During their visit, they provided our learners with a general overview of what it looks like for them to serve our country.

Honoring Our Military Families... Day 2: Purple Up Day -> The East Dale Elementary School Learning Community demonstrated how "plum crazy" they were for our military families by wearing purple and listening to a book, Purple Up! We serve too!, by Shavonne Gibson during Library/Media that culminated with the learners creating thank you cards for those who serve.

Honoring Our Military Families... Day 1: Crazy Camo Day -> The East Dale Elementary School Learning Community demonstrated how "crazy" they were for our military families by wearing camouflage.

April 17: Safety & Security Training in all MCS - No students (NTID) Teachers will be available for instruction assistance for all assignments during the following hours: 10:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-3:30pm The remainder of the day the teachers will be in safe school training. Thank You!!

East Dale is celebrating Purple Up month. It is an opportunity to honor military children from all branches of the military. We also want to show our appreciation to our military soldiers, so we are collecting non-perishable snacks and sweets the entire month of April! The items will be delivered to our Fairmont Armory for their May Military drill weekend.

Leprechaun Midnight Mayhem... Our Third Grade Engineers have been busy creating traps to catch the leprechauns that have been wreaking havoc during the wee hours of the night.
