Senior Recognition Night is fast approaching! Wednesday, May 25 will be senior recognition. If you are going to be recognized, you need to fill out the Senior Exit Form in your PAWS Google classroom. If you don't fill it out, nobody will know your accomplishments!!

Ms. DeVito's students and peer tutors got to take a break from the classroom and enjoy some time in nature with a trip to Homestead Farm Center on Wednesday. Homestead Farm Center is a nonprofit committed to serve individuals with disabilities teaching them to work, learn, live, and thrive in a rural farm setting. Students got an opportunity to work in the greenhouse, garden, work with livestock, bottle feed baby lambs, and create an old-fashioned fidget spinner. The students fell in love with the baby lambs and wanted to sneak one back to FSHS with them.

Sophomores will take the PSAT 10 @ FSHS on Tuesday, April 26. After 1st period on Monday, April 25, please check the room assignments posted outside the counselors’ office & in the freshman building for where to report at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday. Cellphones & other unapproved electronics are prohibited in the testing room.

The Fairmont Senior "Madrigal Chamber Singers" finally got to do our performance for Jayenne that was scheduled for late March of 2020. Thank you to the Jayenne Jaguars Staff and Students for hosting us. It was a pleasure to be filling our "Home Among the Hills," with music once again.

The county-wide Family Literacy Fair is in-person this year. It is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th at the Fairmont Senior Field House (old Armory) at the Marion County Board Office building. It will run 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Career, College, and Industry Fair at the Fairmont Senior Field House on April 26th from 5-7 pm for all 5-12 grade students

April is "Purple Up" month in support of military families. To show your support, please participate in the following way: Monday, April 11-Military Monday-Display your pride by wearing a shirt showing support for one of the military branches (Army, Air Force or Space Force, Marine, Navy or Coast Guard). Tuesday, April 12 – Crazy Camo Day (Wear Camouflage) Wednesday, April 13 - Purple Up Day (Wear Purple)

FSHS graduation is scheduled for East West Stadium on Saturday, May 28 @ 7:00 pm.

The SAT school day will be given to ALL juniors on Wednesday, March 23rd. On the same day we will hold the 3rd quarter PBIS reward for all other students. The reward is a day of movies & snacks provided by the PBIS committee in student homerooms. Attendance will be taken for homeroom only that day & students will stay in their homeroom during the time the SAT is given. Please call the main office if you have any questions.

Juniors. Tomorrow you must turn in your SAT permission slip for this mandatory test. This form allows us to move more quickly through the SAT on test day.

Today Ms. DeVito's students and peer tutors participated in a school-wide campaign Spread the Word "Inclusion" to End the "R" Word in partnership with Special Olympics of West Virginia and Unified Schools. Fairmont Senior High School was selected last year to become a Special Olympics Unified School which promotes inclusion in and out of the classroom.
