Below are the administration instructions for the Fall 2021 WV School Learning Environment Survey for parents or caregivers of students at Barrackville Elementary & Middle School. The online parent survey will be available through November 19, 2021. You may complete the survey from any computer with an internet connection. You are asked to complete an online survey about school climate—the learning and teaching/working conditions—to help guide school improvement efforts. We value your feedback. Underwood Smith Scholarship opportunity for graduating seniors who are interested in becoming a WV teacher: The current senior class can apply by December 31, 2021, for this scholarship, which could offer them $10,000.00 a year for four years while working to become to teacher.

This is a Bison Herd Alert-The Elementary Halloween Costume Parade will be Oct.28 at 1 pm. Start times will be staggered to allow for social distancing and students will have to keep their masks on during the parade. Additional details will be sent out by homeroom teachers. Parents, while not permitted in the school building or able accompany students, we invite you to watch the parade along the route.

The MC BOE recently accepted a resolution to recognize MCS as a Purple Heart District. Many WVs are veterans of the Unites States armed forces and have families with children attending school. During times when these families relocate to meet duty requirements or experience the absence of a loved one while on deployment, MCS has an opportunity to meet the unique needs of these children. The Purple Star Award is designed to recognize schools that create a military-friendly environment and make a special commitment to supporting the resilience of military connected children. here will be signups for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade cheerleading and boys basketball on Wednesday October 6 from 4:00-5:00 and Wednesday October 13 from 4:00-5:30. Signups will be held in the Barrackville K/Pre-K Annex building. The registration fee is $55.00 🏀💙💛 Please message John Ramsey if you are interested in coaching. We hope to have a team for each grade level. If we are unable to obtain enough players and/or coaches, then players will be given the option to play on a combined team (with another school) or play a grade level above their current grade. Refunds will be provided if the option available is not acceptable to the player.

This is a Bison Herd Alert-The Bison PBIS Team is sponsoring an apparel sale. Order forms were sent home with students earlier this week. All orders are due to homeroom teachers by Oct. 5th.

This is a Bison HERD ALERT- If you bring your child to school in the morning, you MUST use the parent drop off line in the church lot. If you choose to park your vehicle in the upper lot, you MUST walk your child to the sidewalk. It is not safe for children to walk through parked vehicles alone.
