Our Mission: Marion County School’s Finance Department supports the mission of the Marion County Schools. The Finance Department wants to honor our community’s values and priorities through sound financial practices. In addition, the Finance Department is committed to providing financial leadership for system wide objectives and student achievement by ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payments, accountability, and compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations and accounting procedures.
The Finance Department consists of four units – Payroll, Accounts Payable, Insurance & Benefits, and Cash Receipts. Below you will find information and links pertaining to each department.
Garbage Services - July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023
The Marion County Board of Education (“Marion County Schools”) is requesting for vendors to submit proposals for the provision of garbage and recycling pickup services at 16 of its sites. The contract period for the bid will be for one year and pick up service will begin on July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023. A vendor to be eligible for bidding must be a fully regulated by the Public Service Commission of West Virginia (the “PSC”) as of December 6, 2021. The PSC must have the authority to regulate the vendor’s service practices, rates, contracts, service areas, safety, and customer complaints should any issues arise, along with all other regulatory authority provided by law to the PSC. Vendors must provide a copy of their certificate/permit approved by the PSC and a copy of their insurance policy with their proposal. The Board will utilize a two-envelope system for bids. Please include certificate/permit, copy of their insurance policy, and a list of your sites, dumpster sizes, and frequency of pickups in the envelope. In a separate sealed envelope please include your bid for these services.

Payroll is unit of the Finance Department that is responsible for processing accurate and timely pay for all faculty and staff. In addition, we support the School’s compensation, benefits, and payroll tax related and reporting services. We are a service-oriented department committed to assisting employees and administrative departments.
Accounts Payable is the unit of the Finance Department responsible for the processing payments for goods, services, employee expense reimbursements, and other expenses incurred by Marion County Schools. Accounts Payable provides payment services to vendors and Marion County School employees while controlling all disbursements from Marion County School Funds.
Insurance and Benefits is the unit of the Finance Department responsible for providing you information about insurance and benefits that Marion County Schools offers to its employees.
Cash Receipts is the unit of the Finance Department responsible for the collection, receipt, and deposit of all funds received for Marion County Schools.
