September 15th is the next National Board Cadre meeting at the MCACEC from 12:00 to 3:00. Therefore, please send your professional leave form right away (Attn. Mr. Chad Norman). First, this session will provide a quick overview of the National Board process since some teachers weren't available for the first session. Next, we'll navigate parts of the NBPTS website (i.e. Get Certified, Get Started, & Candidate Resource Page) and the 25 content areas available to you. Last, we'll discuss the testing center assessment and scoring guide (Component 1).

Candidate Incentives:

* Salary Bonus: $4,500 total ($3,500 state increase, $1,000 Marion County increase)

*Three days professional development

*Tuition reimbursement

Research shows that NBCTs have a greater impact on student learning and achievement than non-certified teachers, with their students outperforming their peers in other classrooms. As a result, students seek out educators who have met their profession's highest standards. National Board Certification is available in 25 content areas from Pre-K through 12th grade. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
