On Thursday, March 17, 2022, the Marion County Board of Education held a Personnel Workshop to review the current state of personnel in Marion County Schools, trends in student enrollment, and other factors that impact the budget of 2022-23. The special meeting was available through livestream on Marion County Schools Facebook as well. As part of this presentation, an overview of proposed reductions at all levels of the school system was provided. Marion County Schools, the largest employer in Marion County, does not propose any Reductions in Force (RIF) at this time. The plan highlights redistribution and restructuring of current staff to meet the trend of declining student enrollment, which is directly tied to state aid for personnel in county schools systems.
