Both southbound lanes of Interstate 79 will be closed from milepost 135 to 134.5 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, for emergency pothole repair. All southbound traffic will detour onto Exit 135 and cross immediately onto the onramp to continue on I-79 southbound. All traffic must follow the detour route. Motorists are advised to plan and allow additional time for their commute as delays are expected. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.

Even though students are on winter break and return to Marion County Schools on January 3, work continues as progress in the Barrackville kitchen moves along. Our hardworking crews complete installation of a new disposer, dishwasher, sink, faucets and dish tables.

Throughout the school year, schools in Marion County are participating in safety and security trainings. Today, Pleasant Valley staff is participating in Active Shooter Training from Officer Jack Frost of the Fairmont PD.


It’s the time of year to gather together as family and the Marion County Schools Maintenance Department did just that as they enjoyed their annual traditional Christmas breakfast today. We are blessed to have this talented, hardworking crew.

‘Twas the night before winter break…and all through the hive…students were busy working with teachers to connect door and hall decorations with learning. From world leaders in ugly sweaters, to a break down of the story of the Grinch, to a “Chemis..tree, to beautiful artwork.
