2025-26 Calendar Reminder for Marion County Schools: Students and staff are on Spring Break from April 3 through 10. Staff return for a Professional Learning Day for necessary meetings and training on Monday, April 13, 2026. We welcome all students back from break on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

What a great celebration of STEAM and CTE in Marion County Schools today at the 2nd Annual STEAM/CTE Festival! It was motivating to witness families and students and the community discussing dreams and working together, with the support of so many experts, in Marion County Schools and beyond, to make it happen.

This month, Marion County Girl Scout and Fairmont Senior High School Student Emma O. was one of 20 Girl Scouts nationally to be chosen to represent at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, joining voices from around the world to learn, connect and advocate for girls. She spent a week in New York City and had various experiences as part of this journey. We are proud of Emma, her student leadership and representation of Marion County Schools nationally.

Marion County Schools Advanced Individual Training: Math Boot Camp Follow-up concluded with a focus on how families could incorporate math throughout their summer activities. Lisa Hayes presented strategies that could be used while going on roadtrips. Diana Arthur and Mel Coleman demonstrated how math could be explored through various summer sporting events. Finally, Mark Fisher showcased how math could be incorporated during rainy days when the family is “stuck” inside the house.
