Approximately 90 5th through 8th graders in Marion County Schools are champion spellers representing their schools at the MCS Spelling Bee tonight. Named after the productivity that occurs in a bee hive, the Spelling Bee reminds us each year that we are moving forward. Tonight, our students give us not only a showcase of their talents and hard work but they also lend another reminder -- one that has continued since the early 1800s in America -- that we are resilient, hardworking, committed, and proud to promote the good in all of our students and their "pursuit of excellence.”
