Buster the Bus was spotted around town today as he assisted with distribution of books to grades K-1 at MCS through a collaboration with Title I and the Transportation Department during National School Bus Safety Month.

The Marion County Technical Center’s 21st Annual Francis Marion Ham, Bacon, and Egg Show is tonight at 7 PM. Marion County FFA Members have spent hundreds of hours preparing their exhibits for this show. You can attend in person to make a bid and invest in furthering the students' education and the FFA program offered at MCTC. Care, share, listen: Be a good team mate and learn ways to “not feed the gators” is the anti-bullying message delivered by Coach Lance Loya as he presented to all students at Fairview Elementary School. Loya is an author and motivational speaker.

Coach Loya, author and motivational speaker, presents today to Collin Petonick’s students at the Youth Reporting Center and later this evening at Fairview Middle and Elementary schools. His presentation “How to be a Good Teammate” deals with anti-bullying strategies.

P-EBT Is Back: The West Virginia Department of Education and West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is pleased to announce PEBT is returning for school year 2021-22. On Friday, February 25, 2022 Governor Jim Justice announced that an additional round of PEBT would be available for eligible students that attend a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program, qualify for free or reduced-price school meals, and have had COVID-19 related absences or school closures caused by the pandemic. Benefits are issued retroactively. Fall 2021 benefits will start to be issued in April 2022. Student families will receive a letter in the mall from DHHR in the coming weeks.
