Students at Fairview Elementary and Fairview Middle will not report to school Friday, December 13, 2024. Fairview Water Department is making the switch over to the new system and both schools will be under a boil water advisory, beginning today after dismissal.

Turn It Up! LOUD! What a celebration to see families, classmates, teachers, and principals cheering nearly 100 of the brightest science students at Marion County's Science Fair tonight. They won at their schools and represented the future engineers, vets, chemists, and more!











No school Wednesday, December 11, 2024 for Barrackville, due to a water line leak and boil water advisory. The area of the water line repair may affect the bus dismissal that uses Saxman Ave. as well.

Tune In! WV FAFSA Day will take place on Thursday, February 6, 2025. This effort is a collaboration between the WV Higher Education Policy Commission, the WV Community and Technical College System, the WV TRIO Association, and WV GEAR UP.
The goal of WV FAFSA Day is to raise awareness about the FAFSA and encourage students and their families to complete the application. This initiative is aimed at institutions of higher education, K-12 schools, community organizations, and partners.

Turn It On! for a SWEET treat with East Fairmont High School's Michael Carpenter, Director, and the talented EFHS choirs at Sweet Evenings tonight.











Fairmont Senior High School administration, Dr. Callis West and Jamie Morgan, and Athletic Director Jeremy Laird recognized Chris Pomp with a plaque for his dedication to the student athletes of Fairmont Senior and Marion County today. He officially retires tomorrow.





What would you do if you were mayor? Mannington Middle School 7th graders are participating in an essay writing contest, focusing on what they would do in the role. Mannington's Mayor Lora Micheal is at Mannington Middle School explaining how the essay competition came to be and to share with the students the role of a town's mayor. Turn It Up! at the ACTE Career Tech national conference with learning about preparing today's schools for tomorrow's workforce, including simulations, scenarios, drones, business collaborations, and engaging hands-on project based real-world strategies and best practices.











Marion County Schools will have Climate Control Day #2 on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
📌Staff, excluding 261-day, will report to work location 2 hours later than normal report time this day.
📌Teachers are available via phone or Internet and can participate in professional learning and meetings.
📌”Climate Control Days" are considered non-traditional instructional days and can be called for weather.
📌Extra-curricular activities will be permitted on their regular schedule. No practices or games prior to the end of the school day.
📌Students will have 2 days upon return to school to submit work.
📌Students are offered a meal between the hours of 10:30 to 12:30 at each school.

Marion County Schools is under a 2-hour delay schedule at this time for Thursday, December 5, 2024.
