
Look at this eager and prepared group of future educators from Fairmont State University that met with Superintendent Dr. Hage this evening. FSU’s history of preparing effective educators began in 1865, with the institution's establishment as the first private Normal School in WV. The Normal School became Fairmont State Teachers College in 1931 and began offering the first 4-Year Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Education.


Get a Life! East Fairmont High students in the Civics and Economics classes of Mr. Owens and Ms. Deane hosted Katlyn Harmon of the the Office of the State Treasurer. They were given simulations with monthly income and expenses in order to learn how to balance a household budget.





Fairview Elementary families had a fun evening last night to provide ideas to use math concepts in the kitchen. A meal prepared by Fairview Diner & Bakery. Families explored stations at their own pace. Each family received the Children's Quick & Easy Cook Book, by Angela Wilkes.

West Virginia Attorney General’s Office deadline for our “Kids Kick Opioids” PSA contest is quickly approaching. Entries are due Friday, May 6, 2022.

Resiliency Summer Camp Opportunity


Curtis Fleming, of Fly Rod Chronicles, visited North Marion to share his story of being a WV teen dreaming of being in a stream. He shared value of staying in school, traveling all of the world but appreciating WV’s beauty the most, and tips to use fly fishing to find joy. And, he challenged Principal DeVaul and Superintendent Hage to a casting challenge.





Fairview Elementary third grade students have recently been studying government and wrote letters to one of their representatives in the WV House. Delegate Garcia came to answer their questions in person. You won't find a better bunch of kids. The future looks bright! ❤️💙



A committee of MC high school administrators reviews WVBE Policy 4373 to reflect on consistency of interventions across the county at all schools. Similar teams at the elementary and middle school levels have been doing the same over the last two weeks.




Over 800 students in grades K-12 attended Summer SOLE last year to recover instruction in math, reading, writing, science, social studies, STEAM, and credit recovery. Teams of this year’s teachers have been attending professional development sessions in the evenings to prepare for this summer’s sessions, which will add CTE and theater as well.
