How did you soar this summer? EFMS Teacher Barbara Pill and STEM club students were the only WV teams to compete in the national Middle/ High School or the University division of The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC) Finals at the National Air Force Museum. #MCSgetbackinthegame





Honoring excellence in athletics: The MC board of education recognized the “14 strong” North Marion Hugh School State Champions 4x200 Girls Relay Team and State Runner Up Track team tonight along with Head Coach Jeff Crane. #MCSgetbackinthegame

The first face many students see in the morning and the last face when the school day is finished is often a school bus driver. This extends into summer in MCS as Bus Driver Dave Butcher and Bus Aide Ginger Joliffe are just a few of the hardworking teams supporting our students.



Now we are cooking! Special Educator Candi Thomas works with students at North Marion High School to provide specialized instruction in the kitchen during the summer months. #MCSgetbackinthegame


It takes a strong system of many supports to keep our schools ready. Plumber Chad Gifford installs touchless water fountains at Monongah Middle School. All schools will have these this Fall. #MCSgetbackinthegame

The “fruits” of the students’ labor in the Farm to Schools Program at Barnes Learning Center are cared for by Principal Travus Oates this hot summer day. Students designed, created, planted, and harvested vegetables for the cafeteria this past year. #MCSgetbackinthegame





Working hard to get schools ready, Bernie Faust and Wayne Ramage, Marion County Schools custodians, are on the Summer Paint Crew today.



Special Educator Donnie Cyphers and Aide Patti Linn provide specialized instruction to a group of students to combat the "summer slide" and keep students engaged during the summer months at East Fairmont High School.



These two are among over 3,200 Marion County youth, age 18 and under, who have registered for and are receiving a delivery of 7 days worth of breakfast and lunch items on their doorstep by a private company contracted by MCS as part of the summer feeding program.


Look who we ran into at White Hall Elementary School today! Rachelle Bourne, 2021 Marion County Teacher of the Year and NBCT. Ms. Bourne was preparing her classroom for the first day of students.
