Families: On the afternoon of April 8, 2024, our region will experience a partial solar eclipse on the first day students return from spring break. Out of an abundance of caution, MCS has purchased solar eclipse glasses. The eclipse will continue during dismissal time. Please discuss with your child wearing the solar glasses provided until arriving home. Further reinforce dangers of viewing the solar eclipse or looking directly at the sun during the specific timed event. If your child drives to and from school, discuss your expectations regarding safety measures. All schools are encouraged to share the solar eclipse viewing experience with by utilizing television feeds or internet live streams. See: https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/
