Fairview Ele. PTO contacted Cylinder Exchange, a locally owned business in Farmington, West Virginia. The owner kindly offered to donate four composite picnic tables for our students. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for providing a safer environment for the students.


P.O.W.E.R. Sharing and growing together! MCS Secondary Math Cadre kicked off its first meeting tonight by sharing best practices and growing stronger together in support and best practices for horizontal teaming and future planning with a packed house of teachers and principals.

In conjunction with Consitution Week, Sept. 17-23, students at Watson Elementary in Ms. Ogden's class drafted their own class constitution.
This year marks the 236th anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention.




Congratulations to Jayenne Elementary School, which today at 1 PM was announced as a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School. The Marion County school is one of 3 in WV to win the nationwide distinction and one of only 353 public and non-public schools recognized nationwide in 2023.



Marion County Schools is honored to have Jim Brown, Executive Director of the WV School Board Association, visiting Fairview Middle School students, staff, and Principal Steve Rodriquez, to recognize them as one of the top performing middle schools in WV.

A new "twist" on learning in music class at West Fairmint Middle School as students in Mrs. Lilly’s general music class played “Treble Clef Twister” this week to review their notes. Learning is flexible, fun, and fantastic at WFMS.






It's as easy as floating your way to better understanding of math concepts. Students in Mrs. Currence’s 8th grade Math classes at West Fairmint Middle School participated in a computer science activity by building aluminum boats and determining its strength and durability.







The hallways at West Fairmint Middle School are starting to shine bright with student work of Mrs. Betler’s WV History class, where students created posters depicting what Democracy means to them.


School PBIS teams from across Marion County Schoold receive training to support students tonight at the High Tech, with Erin Day, Behavior Specialist, from the WV Behavior/Mental Health Technical Assistance Center.



The WVDE has informed counties of the following: It was brought to our attention that some of the student’s video report links are currently exhibiting a 404 – Page Not Found error message. We are working with the vendor to resolve the issue. WVDE will alert you once we have a resolution to this matter. Thank you for your patience.


It's more than a ribbon cutting for the P-K and K addition at East Dale, but a full circle celebration for the young leaders and lifetime leaders in Marion County who have roots and new beginnings at East Dale as well as the staff who are building our future every day.

The Autism Academy featured the WV Autism Training Center training where attendees worked with discrete trial and how to help support our students with autism. Training led by Denise Morris, Behavior Specialist, and Holly Blatt, BCBA.
