Setting up for the Marion County Literacy Fair this Saturday, April 20, 2023 is underway as East Park shows off its artistic talents of students. Displays of student art and the powerful connection to literacy will be showcased from throughout the county. Come and join in our community celebration of the value of literacy this weekend, 10-2, at the Field House.

Establishing a collaboration to serve students more, Superintendent Dr. Heston, Marion County Board of Education and Pierpont Community & Technical College Representatives held a signing ceremony for One Walk Two Degrees program.



Thrasher Representatives Jim Decker and Anjelica D’Annunzio presented the Marion County Schools Healthy Grandfamilies with a $1,000 check tonight as part of the company’s 40 days of giving to charities.



Take some time to build something with students and appreciate WV endangered species in an art installation by Fairview Elementary and Middle students. Art Teacher Ms. Cress and WVU Student Intern Ms. Gray worked with students and adults and put recycled caps to canvas.

Jayenne’s Teacher Kristy Moore’s first grade class is hosting a student published book signing today. We write and celebrate it because it matters for student growth!
