Exposing Students to a Kids Market: Thankful for a collaboration with WVU Extension Service and Mountaineer Mobile Food Bank for a pop-up kids market with fresh produce from a farm in Upshur County at Blackshere Elementary and Rivesville Elementary today.





Fairview Elementary Summer Camp welcomed the Blackwater Brass Quartet today during Music Day at camp. RJ James and Ken Kyle (trumpet), Chris DeAngelis (tuba) and Tiffany Chivers (French horn) performed a concert of patriotic music, classical music, and County Roads. Mr. James and Fairview Elementary teacher Mandy James conducted music lessons for older campers. Children also created instruments and read musical-themed books.

The US declared it was no longer subject to the monarch of Britain and was united, free, and independent.

Opportunities to Soar! Monongah Middle students in Summer SOLE took a trip to Pierpont Community & Technical College to tour, explore air craft, including retired military helicopter to jets. They used the Microsoft Flight Simulator and constructed model airplanes to test.





At the Marion County Technical Center Summer CTE Camp, middle school students were learning about electrician, welding and 3D printing in the aerospace engineering pathways.





Barnes Learning Center is taking a break from credit recovery to give the greenhouse some TLC and earn some community service hours.




West Fairmont Middle School Summer SOLE students visited Pierpont's School of Aviation in Bridgeport today where they built and tested model airplanes. Students also had the opportunity to test their pilot skills in a flight simulator.

Over 60 middle school students in Marion County are attending the Career Technical Education boot camp at MCTC this week to become exposed to CTE courses offered.





Blackshere's Summer SOLE: Ms. McCoy's Transitional Kindergarteners are making s'mores and building team work skills with a pets puzzle and a night sky puzzle.




Marion County Schools Team of four principals from Rivesville, West Fairmont Middle, Monongah Middle and North Marion High shared their best practices #inthepursuitofexcellence on the national stage today at the Model Schools Conference 2023 as one of seven innovative districts.





Congratulations, Bailee Tucker, an East Fairmont High School graduate, for being the first person from Marion County to win a Gracie Award. She accepted the award in New York City and was nominated by Gina Martino Dahlia, a product of Marion County Schools as well.
