Throughout the school year, schools in Marion County are participating in safety and security trainings. Today, Pleasant Valley staff is participating in Active Shooter Training from Officer Jack Frost of the Fairmont PD.


It’s the time of year to gather together as family and the Marion County Schools Maintenance Department did just that as they enjoyed their annual traditional Christmas breakfast today. We are blessed to have this talented, hardworking crew.




Celebrating final days of the 2022 school year together as a team with breakfast before kicking off training updates for 2023, the Marion County Schools bus operators are a hardworking team and we are blessed to have them.



“We are gonna be friends…” Santa and the Grinch were spotted at East Fairmont Middle School this afternoon.



‘Twas the night before winter break…and all through the hive…students were busy working with teachers to connect door and hall decorations with learning. From world leaders in ugly sweaters, to a break down of the story of the Grinch, to a “Chemis..tree, to beautiful artwork.





Students at Barnes Learning Center show off their inner artist and architect and make ginger bread houses for the holiday season.





The Grinch was spotted at East Fairmont High School today greeting Pre-K students … and big kids too.



🚨 Reminder: Wednesday, December 21 is the last day of school for students in Marion County before winter break. Students return on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.


Marion County Technical Center Student Council and Carpentry class built and stocked two blessing boxes that they installed at Mannington Middle and a community daycare center.

The Elf at West Fairmont Middle is practicing for the anticipated snow this weekend. Principal Haught greeted students from a sleigh this morning as they entered WFMS. Do you wanna build a snowman next?




From snowmen, to elves, to mischief to fun, the Blackshere Elementary hallways are filled with sights of the season in the door decorating contest. With a little help from their friends at North Marion, Assistsnt Principal Henline made the tough decision of the winners.





The sounds of joyful and beautiful music this holiday season continues in Marion County Schools with Blackshere Elementary’s 3rd grade Christmas program, “Christmas is ❤️ Love.”





As the New Year is soon upon us all, we are seeking input from our families on the 2023-2024 Marion County School Calendar at https://forms.office.com/r/NJkVDGpEqq. This survey is the public survey for 2022-23. The county’s calendar committee and BOE will use this information.


The fruits of learning are planted in math, writing, and science. Monongah Elementary held an open house of their school garden today and showed off their knowledge for perimeter and area, identifying parts of a seed, journaling about the process, and writing thank you letters.





Mrs. Claus was spotted signing in at Monongah Elementary this morning.


It’s cold…but it’s not too cold for West Fairmont Middle School Principal June Haught, who took to the roof today to greet students. She will be found in a different location every morning this week at WFMS.





Kicking off the day by honoring our artists as Principal of Pleasant Valley Mrs. Middlemas congratulates the Pleasant Valley students who performed in The Nutcracker this weekend.
