Gregware signed with the Army National Guard. In the special ceremony, Staff Sergeant and Teacher Tim Bean, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army Frank Vitale, Major James Wikle, and David Tucker of the VFW spoke to friends and family celebrating Gregware's commitment. EFHS alumni and PFCs Jayden Priolette and Jackson Lilley were part of the special signing ceremony as well, organized by EFHS's Ms. Britcher.











The WV Governor's School Tourism is seeking representatives from Marion County Schools.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a current high school student in West Virginia with plans to attend next year.
Must be a West Virginia resident.
Must be a freshman or sophomore at the time of application.
Must have a grade-point average of at least 3.0.
Must satisfy all immunization requirements according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR). Non-public school and homeschooled students must provide proof of immunizations.
The school counselor must be involved in the application process for the GST. Please provide sufficient time for school personnel to secure the required documents for the application. Within the application, students will be required to secure TWO teacher recommendations. Tune In! and Purple Up during Month of the Military Child as Administrative Assistant LD Skarzinski presents a banner from the WV Department of Ed to the Board of Education tonight, recognizing Marion County Schools as one of only 6 districts in WV to earn Purple Star District.


Tune In! as two principals of Marion County Schools, Fairmont Senior High School Principal Green and East Fairmont Middle School Principal Conover, presented proposals at the WVSSAC Board of Controls meeting today.



Turn It On! as the North Marion High School Theatre Department, and teacher Ms. Oliveto, NBCT, were honored by the Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Heston for their recent accomplishments at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) in Baltimore, Maryland. This conference is one of the most prestigious and largest professional theatre gatherings in the nation. SETC comprises 12 member states of which WV is a proud member.
This year, North Marion was one of only two high schools selected to represent the entire state of West Virginia at the national SETC festival.
At the event, students received the Spirit of the Festival Award, an individual honor that celebrates professionalism, collaboration, and positive representation. Two students, Lydia Hatten and Aaliyah Evans, were awarded "All Star Cast Members:" individual awards for their outstanding performance work as well.
In addition, one of our seniors participated in the SETC college auditions and received an incredible 38 callbacks from theatre programs across the country, including training programs in New York City.


Turn It Up! as the PROSTART state competition and Skills USA winners and Teacher of the Year Chef Stalnaker were honored by the Marion County Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Heston tonight.


Tune In! as the county's Young Writer's Winners, places 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and their teachers were recognized by the Marion County Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Heston tonight. Coordinator Gina DeLorenzo oversaw the contest and enthusiastic celebration tonight.











Tune In! as Marion County Schools celebrates Month of the Military Child. Our high schools have Military Signing Days this week and our Board of Education has a special recognition tonight of military and their families.


Turn It In! Monongah Elementary held its Third Nine Weeks Reward at “The Hive" today as an awesome reward for students at the end of the grading period.










Tune In! as Rivesville students raised over $1,000 for Marion County Special Olympics.

Turn It On! at Title I Parent Council Meeting "Your House is SUM-thing Special," which featured Jack Crumm from Carnegie Learning to demonstrate how math skills/concepts could be reinforced using items found throughout one’s house.
