Turn It Up! Rivesville Middle School RAM BAND got STRAIGHT 1s for the 3rd Consecutive Year at the WVSSAC Region 10 Band Festival AND 4th overall Superior Rating in school history!
Congratulations to Margie Suder, recipient of the Sylvia Shugrue Award for Elementary School Teachers, sponsored by the National Science Teaching Association.
This award honors one elementary school teacher who has established an interdisciplinary, inquiry-based lesson plan. The lesson plan will fully reference sources of information and any relevant Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and benchmarks found in The Atlas of Science Literacy
Margie will be honored during a special evening celebration at NSTA’s National Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 28.

Tune In! and "wheels up" at Mannington Middle as the 5th graders are the first in Marion County Schools to participate in the Adopt A Pilot program initiative. Pilot Mr. Jette & flight attendant Mrs. Braham present at MMS today through collaboration with Southwest Airlines.

Turn It Up! BUILDING HISTORY! Straight 1s again for the WFMS 6th Grade Beginning Band at the WVSSAC Region 10 Band Festival! The WFMS 6th Grade Beginning Band is the 1st beginning band in Marion County and Region 10 history to have an overall Superior Rating at the band festival in 3 consecutive years. Turn It Up! Congratulations to two Marion County Schools students for being recognized as West Virginia Metro News Scholar Athlete of the Week, sponsored by ZMM Architects and Engineers. The award recognizes scholar athletes, who excel in the classroom and their athletic endeavors. Kya Stump of East Fairmont High School and Brody Whitehair of Fairmont Senior High School are recognized.
Tune In! Fairview Elementary School's PreK class was invited to the Fairview Public Library to explore areas of construction. They got to keep their hard hats and work vests as a keepsake. It was a very special day in Fairview!
