Students will not report to Monongah Elementary School tomorrow, February 6, 2025 due to a water line break and boil water advisory impacting the school.

Tune In! as students from middle schools in Marion County Schools attended the Middle School Student Summit tonight, hosted at West Fairmont Middle School, to use their student voices to share the strengths and weaknesses of Marion County Schools with Superintendent Dr. Heston.









Turn It Up! and help the Marion County Schools Board of Education recognize the amazing art talent of East Fairmont Middle School Student Reese Williams, whose art now hangs as a permanent fixture in the board room. Reese, a student of Ms. Misty Skarzinski, is a county and district winner of the Lion's Peace Poster contest who will go on to compete nationally. The wood canvas was crafted by Mr. Brewer of the Maintenance Department. Reese unveiled and dedicated her work tonight at the board meeting.



The students of Africana Studies, taught by Ms. Walker at Fairmont Senior High School, created a semester long learning timeline with symbolic images and well-developed paragraph explanations.










Tune In! as Marion County Board of Education members Mr. Dragich, Mrs. Costello, and Jayenne Elementary Teacher Ms. Trina led an exciting Bear Hunt adventure for kindergarten students today. After enjoying the story We're Going on a Bear Hunt, the students set off with safari hats and binoculars to explore the school in search of hidden stuffed bears. Each child found a bear to take home as a special keepsake from their adventure!








Turn It Up! and celebrate "Made in Marion County Meals," featuring local foods served in our school cafeterias throughout the county. Today was a hit with meat sauce from Muriales and bread from County Club Bakery in collaboration with Marion County Schools Child Nutrition.










Turn It On! Fairview Elementary School held its annual Book Bingo night to enjoy family time together and give away books. The Literacy Volunteers of Marion County were in attendance, along with Ozzie the Reading Dog, to teach us the importance of reading.

A very special thank you to the Curriculum and Instruction Department, which had PBIS training, textbook adoption, AND a record turnout for the social studies fair — all going on at the same time in Marion County Schools last night! What a top-notch, hardworking team we have supporting our schools! And thank you to those of our principals and teachers and community members who served as judges last night for the Social Studies Fair.
