Establishing a collaboration to serve students more, Superintendent Dr. Heston, Marion County Board of Education and Pierpont Community & Technical College Representatives held a signing ceremony for One Walk Two Degrees program.



Thrasher Representatives Jim Decker and Anjelica D’Annunzio presented the Marion County Schools Healthy Grandfamilies with a $1,000 check tonight as part of the company’s 40 days of giving to charities.

A lawyer, police officer, nuclear engineer, air rescue, engineer - and a soldier, who is giving of themselves for something bigger than themselves in signing today to serve in the US Armed Forces at East Fairmont High School during the 2nd Annual Military Signing Day.





Blackshere is busting with pride! Mrs. McCoy was recognized as Grade School Teacher of the Year by Fairmont VFW post 7048 at the Region One Annual Awards Ceremony. Blackshere also had two students from Mrs. Richardson's 3rd grade class who were recognized by the VFW post 7048.




Mrs. Ford’s Earth Science class at East Fairmint High School worked through an engineering challenge to design a space suit, from random materials, for their marshmallow peep astronauts that had to withstand a drop in air pressure.





Nearly 800 students in grades K-8 registered for Marion County Summer SOLE Programming this year. Representatives from various departments met today to coordinate support services at all sites throughout the county.



One step at a time. Fairview Middle School raised $148 for Marion County Special Olympics today. The Special Olympics will be held May 18, 2023 at East-West Stadium.



MCS Families: Students entering 7th & 12th grades for 2023-24 are required to have the Tdap & meningitis vaccines to return on the first day of school or to participate in summer practices/activities. Students may not attend school without proper verification of vaccines. PreK, K, 2nd, 7th, and 12th grades are required to show proof of Health and Dental exams. Please send documents to your child’s school as soon as possible. ALSO, state law requires that any student who has Emergency Medications ordered must have the medication administration form AND the medication available at school or the student may not attend school. Ensure these are given to the school nurse.
