Finishing Strong! Blackshere Elementary PreK students made box planters to teach students about the cycle of plants and beautifying their school community together. The planters are placed near the playground, which teachers secured a grant for to upgrade this year.




Congratulations to the 63 Mannington Middle School Gators who are 8th graders carrying with them tradition, memories and achievement to North Marion High School next year. A “Moving On” ceremony celebrated the class and how they’ve grown from birth through middle school tonight.

A big thank you for our Marion County Schools bus operators for transporting the East Fairmont and North Marion bands to the Memorial Day parade in Grafton to honor our WV veterans and for always looking first class and representing us well!

Marion County Schools honors all soldiers who have died while serving in the US Armed Forces on Memorial Day and every day. In 1971 Congress declared Memorial Day a national holiday, but it roots back to the Civil War era, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs.

It’s graduation week in MCS and it takes a team to salute our graduates. Dianna Lemley, EFHS alumni and substitute secretary, reflects upon her own graduation today as she works diligently to prepare the Class of 2022 honor cords for graduates.


Reflecting Upon a Year: English 9 Honors classes of Fairmont Senior Teacher Ms. Amanda Johnson studied The Odyssey and created their personal Odysseys. By documenting 10 assignments that affected or challenged them most, they discussed how to overcome difficulties, learning about themselves, and how it is symbolized to them.





Hop into Spring with these students by studying the external structure and anatomy of the frog in the Biology class of Teacher Jason Graham at East Fairmont High School.
