Austin, M.Ed., Coordinator in the Office of District & Leadership Support. The session focused on the critical role school counselors play in creating safe and supportive school environments. Family Resource Network also shared community resources and information about a mindfulness program.

And, one of our own, STEAM Teacher Margie Suder, is one of 50 award-winners nationally of the Voya Unsung Heroes Award for innovative method, creativity and the ability to positively influence students. Since 1996, Voya Financial, in partnership with Scholarship America, has bestowed this honor on an elite group of educators nationally. Strengthened behavior response through targeted assistance to promote regular attendance, increased achievement, validated practices, and empowered support teams.  A huge THANK YOU to the WVDE Special Education Department for the grant funding that made this training initiative possible!

The early release of Monongah Elementary and Monongah Middle at 10 AM on September 25, 2025 has been cancelled. The estimated restore of power was originally 12:30. Power has been restored and is on now. There will be no early dismissal due to restore of power at these schools.
