The work of Marion County Schools and the best practice creation and tool of our own Attendance Director Trisha Maxwell was highlighted today at the West Virginia Department of Education CSI-ATS Schools Conference as a model for all districts.

It's the final day of the Pupil Services Summer Academy in Marion County Schools where sessions focused on WV Foster Care System with Missy Vincent and Jessie Waddell, Functional Communication with MCS's own Abbey Griffith, and Social Skills with Andrew Nelson with Autism Community Consultants.











Day 2 of Marion County Schools Pupil Services Academy finishes up with the motivational and practical expertise of Dr. Jim Harris with the WV Autism Training Center as he discusses PBIS Tiered Systems, Supporting Special Education students, and Trauma-Informed Behavior Supports





Continuing to support those who are new to the great profession of teaching, Marion County Schools Master Teachers meet today to Tune In, Turn On, and Turn It Up in mentorship for 2024-25.

Congratulations to Supervisor of Pupil Services Dr. Christina Hare for securing the Preschool Inclusive Practices Grant from the West Virginia Department of Education. The grant will help fund practices in Marion County School's 18 inclusive Pre-K classrooms "to
create an inclusive, diverse, and equitable learning environment for Pre-K students.


Summer SOLE thanks these 3 ladies for the honor and privilege to work with them the last 10 years. They have left their footprints on the lives of so many. Thank you for all that you have given. New beginnings are the best. Enjoy this new journey.

If your child attends Summer SOLE at East Park Elementary, the coordinator of the site has contacted you or attempted to contact you regarding a boil water advisory that impacts the site. Summer SOLE at East Park Elementary has been cancelled for Friday, July 26, 2024 due to a boil water advisory and as we await results. Staff will report.
