It was Glow Day in Mrs. Reesman’s 6th Grade math classes today at EFMS! Students received math awards and completed glowing math problems!
Who's reading a book tonight and coming back to school after summer smarter? Fairview Elementary students received books of their choice today from Read Aloud WV and Title I during a big celebration of reading with Reader's Theatre!
Rachel Hulderman from the STEAM BUS visited the Pre-K classroom at Heart Junction in Mr. Oser's classroom yesterday. She led a discussion on bees, pollen, and flowers and they did an activity to demonstrate how bees help flowers grow by collecting pollen.
The East Fairmont STEM Club’s “Bumblebee Rocketry” placed 6th at 2024 American Rocketry Challenge in The Plains, Virginia over the weekend. The team of four girls was awarded $3,500 plus an additional $500 for their school as prize money. They placed sixth out of 100 schools!!
💚Tonight Mannington Middle celebrated its 8th graders and their accomplishments at the annual 8th Grade Night. Special thanks to Mr. Mike Hays, retired MMS teacher and coach, who imparted his wisdom to 8th graders on how they can accomplish anything that they put their minds to as long as they are willing to work hard. Also, thank you to Dr. DeVaul for sharing with students some great advice in her closing remarks as well, especially the reminder that it's always okay to ask for help/support.

Sons and Daughters of Italy Scholarship Winners have been announced: Gianna Koski of Fairmont Senior High, Hoyt Michael and Sophia DeMary from East Fairmont High School. Students were honored tonight at the KOC in Morgantown. Also pictured are Logan Rizzo, Scholarship Chairperson and Anthony Shields, club President.
Congratulations to Marion County Technical Center's Lakotah Hampton, who was chosen for the WV Governor’s STEM Institute at WVU. The two Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Institute schools will "engage students in topics ranging from the science of food to the magic of the universe and the mysteries of outer space."
Congratulations to Halle Cercone of Fairmont Senior Fairmont High School, who was selected to participate in the the first ever WV Governor's School for Tourism to represent her school and Marion County. The Governor’s School for Tourism (GST) "equips students with knowledge of the tourism industry in West Virginia, taking students to key locations across the state that set West Virginia apart from other travel destinations."
It's Pool Time and the Marion County Family Resource Network is helping families to make a splash into the summer.

What a great season for Watson’s Girls on the Run. Every week they met to inspire and encourage each other! Today, they were on fire from beginning to end and completed the GOTR 5k!

The award-winning Rivesville MS Band performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH this afternoon. They also visited exhibits and artifacts from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artists and groups.
The band made Marion County Schools history as the FIRST middle school band in the county to perform out of state at a historical and nationally-known venue.
