The results are in and finalized! The WV State Math Field Day was held on Saturday, April 20th. The students of Marion County Schools did a tremendous job representing our area in State competition.

Congratulations to two of Marion County's latest to be recognized among the elite nation-wide. Stephanie Brown, East Fairmont Middle, and Rachelle Bourne, of White Hall Elementary, join 1,205 teachers across West Virginia and more than 130,000 National Board Certified Teachers nationally. The WVDE will be celebrating the new and renewing NBCTs for this tremendous accomplishment on April 24, 2024 at the Culture Center. It is the highest honor bestowed upon an educator.


Congratulations to North Marion's Jordan Cox! The WV Disability History Essay Contest committee is proud to announce the winners of the 2024 Disability History Essay Contest in West Virginia. This contest was designed to reinforce Disability History Week in WV and to provide high school seniors an opportunity to showcase their writing skills and knowledge of the Disability Rights Movement. Entries were received from high school seniors throughout West Virginia and the following were selected to receive an award and corresponding cash prizes:

The Disability History Essay Contest is a collaborative effort between the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (WVDRS), West Virginia Statewide Independent Living Council (WVSILC), and State Rehabilitation Council (SRC), with cooperation from the West Virginia Department of Education.


Congratulations to Haydyn Dudash and Hunter Bragg, both juniors at East Fairmont High, who won the doubles championship for the Big Ten. Along the bracket, they shut out two Bridgeport teams 8-0 and then won in a comeback match against RCB 9-7! In singles, Hunter Bragg made it to the final four bracket and tied for 3rd overall. 🎾

ALMBS is sponsored by The American Legion Department of West Virginia and was first held in 1936. ALMBS is an Honors and Leadership program that has the primary purpose of “Teaching Good Government Through Participation”.
To be deemed “Eligible and Recommended”, an individual must be a raising male senior who has a Grade Point Average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent, is deemed to have good character, and is actively involved in school and community activities.


East Fairmont High School students traveled to Boston to compete in the Festivals of Music. The Elizabethans, Women's Choir, and Concert Choir competed against several different schools -

The MCTC Productions crew is spending the day on the West Virginia University campus exploring the Media Innovation Center and attending creator session in On Air Presentations, Voice Delivery and Viral Branding.


Sunbeam, a collaborative partner of Marion County Schools Universal Pre-K, is having its 6th annual spring gala tonight at 5 PM, an evening immersed in the arts. Parents are invited to move throughout the rooms to discover the diverse learning experiences taking place.











Due to a water break and boil water advisory, Fairview Elementary and Fairview Middle students will dismiss at 12:30 for Friday, April 19, 2024.

It's a reminder of Earth Day at East Fairmont High School. Ms. Dobrzynski and Mrs. Ford collaborate on Earth Day to clean up their school! A special thank you to Bruce Martin of Mt. Zion Nursery for donating all the mulch!

Oh how sweet! Blackshere had Candyland Family Night tonight with stations setup for families with activities for learning reading and math.









Opera, the newest family member of the West Fairmont Middle Cub family, was busy today training her handlers! She taught them commands such as “Place,” “Stay,” and “Visit.” She gives them a “Two Paws 🐾 Up” for a great learning day!





Committed: Today was Military Signing Day at North Marion High School as we all salute the commitment of these 3 North Marion High School seniors, who signed with the National Guard today at a special ceremony at NMHS.
