Enjoying the "fruits" of the labor of the MCS Child Nutrition Program and our cooks. The Fruit & Vegetable Snack Program is operated in five of our schools: Watson, Monongah Elementary, Fairview Elementary, East Park, and Blackshere.
Pictured are Moon Drop Grapes, Tri-colored Cauliflower, Pink Pineapples, Watermelon Radishes, Blood Oranges, Lucy Glo Apples, Hummus, Concord Grapes and Figs, to name a few.
This program is a grant from the USDA to promote awareness with young students about different products that they may not see or have the opportunity to taste. It helps to broaden their horizons and gives them a healthy mid-afternoon treat.
