Congratulations to Marion County Technical Center's Lakotah Hampton, who was chosen for the WV Governor’s STEM Institute at WVU. The two Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Institute schools will "engage students in topics ranging from the science of food to the magic of the universe and the mysteries of outer space."

Congratulations to Halle Cercone of Fairmont Senior Fairmont High School, who was selected to participate in the the first ever WV Governor's School for Tourism to represent her school and Marion County. The Governor’s School for Tourism (GST) "equips students with knowledge of the tourism industry in West Virginia, taking students to key locations across the state that set West Virginia apart from other travel destinations."

It's Pool Time and the Marion County Family Resource Network is helping families to make a splash into the summer.

What a great season for Watson’s Girls on the Run. Every week they met to inspire and encourage each other! Today, they were on fire from beginning to end and completed the GOTR 5k!

The award-winning Rivesville MS Band performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH this afternoon. They also visited exhibits and artifacts from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artists and groups.
The band made Marion County Schools history as the FIRST middle school band in the county to perform out of state at a historical and nationally-known venue.

New authors were introduced this week at the “Third Grade Author’s Tea” at Pleasant Valley. Students were recognized and celebrated for their hard work and accomplishment of writing a book. Each student had their story published in a classroom compilation book. The students topped off the afternoon by having tea with their special guests. Mrs. Burton and Mrs. Blankenship 3rd grade classrooms.










West Fairmont Middle School's faculty participated in a surprise “Dress Like a Middle Schooler” Day. Students were excited as they were greeted this morning!



Class of 2024 celebrations of accomplishments continue throughout the county at Fairmont Senior High School with the Senior Recognition Ceremony.
