"Take a Bite Out of the Apple for Kids" and learn more about the 2024 Bond Proposal and an equal distribution of funds across the 3 Marion County Schools feeder areas with elementary and high school projects at https://www.marionboe.com/page/bond. This is a 5-year bond as part of a "first bite" in a longer 15-year plan to address facilities needs across the district. Celebrating Black History Month at Watson Elementary today with Black leaders from throughout our community, region, and former alumni of Watson returning to talk with students during a series of presentations and activities for celebration of Black history and achievement.

Marion County Schools was honored to be among those at the Tygart Valley United Way Celebration today. Our employees helped reach this goal. Thank you to the United Way for its dedication to our after school programming for middle schools, Flipside. West Virginia Public Broadcasting visited Jayenne Elementary's Kindergarten classrooms to teach about day, night, and nocturnal animals. Ms. Maggie and Ms. Autumn used PBS Kids show Dinosaur Train and the book Stellaluna to help teach the Science concepts.

Congratulations to East Fairmont Middle School Teacher Barb Pill. She was nominated this year for West Virginia Broadcasting Above and Beyond for Teachers and was recognized today at EFMS today.

Marion County's middle school principals' book study met tonight to discuss chapters 6 and 7 of STICK TOGETHER: A SIMPLE LESSON TO BUILD A STRONGER TEAM, led by West Fairmont Middle and Monongah Middle's administrations.

Home Depot Store employees wrote a grant to provide Pleasant Valley Elementary with 10 raised garden beds, gardening tools, and potting mix. The grant was accepted, and a collaborative effort of 28 employees helped build the garden beds.
