The 2nd Annual Community Back-2- School Picnic and Bash will be sponsored by the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Saturday, August 19, 11am - 4pm at Fairmont Hills Apartments. The Academic Enrichment and After School Program begins August 21, at the Fairmont Hills Apartments.


Fairmont State University will be hosting an Educator Appreciation Night on Thursday, August 31st at 5PM with free entrance for our educators to attend the Fairmont State v. Bloomsburg Football game immediately following. FSU is looking forward to an opportunity to thank our teachers for all they do and hope to help them kick off their school year with a little fun.


WVDE has acquired LiveGrades from CityNet. Since acquiring the software, WVDE has worked to get things up and running. LiveGrades is at the URL https://livegrades.k12.wv.us The WVDE has indicated there should be a few tweaks but you should not see any differences in how the product functions. WVDE will maintain the product in its current form and have no plans for modifications at this time. The WVDE is working directly with Citynet to build the interface between Livegrades and WVEIS 2.0.


Give books. Give hope. Fairmont Senior High School student leader and HOBY Ambassador Ava McMullen has started a nonprofit organization called Sharing Stories! There are 7 boxes all around Marion County to help.


Welcome back, Blackshere Bandits, as staff is readying classrooms for students' first day of school on August 21, 2023 for grades 1-12 in Marion County Schools.











Thank you to the Marion County Health Department, which is parked in front of Barrackville School today with its mobile unit for vaccinations. In WV students entering seventh and twelve grade have required immunizations to attend school on the first day of school. In an effort to assist families, Marion County Schools is collaborating with the Marion County Health Department. Per the WVDE, students in 7th and 12th grade who do not have updated immunizations may not attend school. The Marion County Health Department will be offering free onsite vaccinations clinics throughout the county for the next month. If the parent/legal guardian is not present, the child must have signed written permission stating vaccination administration is okay.

NMHS - 8/17/23
All clinics will be from 10AM-2PM
