The training was on learning to lead by inspiring and building trust with staff and creating a shared vision.

GIAD is a fun filled day of FREE aviation activities & opportunities to meet people representing some of the many different careers in our local aviation industry. Activities include flight simulators, sheet metal riveting and engine borescoping stations, aviation-themed jewelry and crafts, static display of aircraft, drones and MORE! There are Free giveaways & free parking! Food trucks will be on site & will be the only cost if you have purchases. Congratulations to the students, staff and families of Pleasant Valley Elementary, which just learned at a national ceremony that began at 1 PM today that they have been selected as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School. They are 1 of 3 named in WV this year and 356 schools recognized nation wide today as National Blue Ribbon by the US Department of Education. The National Blue Ribbon Schools (NBRS) Program is one of the U.S. Department of Education’s longest-running recognition programs. NBRS recognizes outstanding public and non-public elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall high academic achievement or success in closing the achievement gap among diverse groups of students. Since its inception in 1982, the goals of the program are to shine a spotlight on the best schools in the United States and to share best practices of outstanding schools across the country.

Marion County Schools is honored to be at the official ribbon cutting at Fairmont State University this afternoon for Middle College, a program specifically designed for WV's foster youth to earn a Marion County Schools diploma and college credit through FSU.

September 9-13, 2024 is National Arts in Education Week. This week and every day Marion County Schools believes in the benefits of and need for the arts in education. In 2010, Congress put the week in motion "so that elected officials and educational decision-makers nationwide can find ways to support equitable arts access for students of all backgrounds."
Tune In! To the upcoming production of "Frozen Jr." featuring students from North Marion High School, Marion County Technical Center, Mannington Middle, Barrackville School, Monongah Middle, Fairview Middle, Rivesville Elementary School, and East Fairmont High School.
