Congratulations to East Fairmont Middle School and Marion County Technical Center students who competed in Explore the New Manufacturing. By connecting local manufacturers with area middle and high schools, students gained hands-on experience and a deeper awareness of career pathways in modern manufacturing.
Middle school students participated in the Student Video Contest and a new Graphic Design Contest, creating digital posters with regional manufacturers to showcase the coolest products made in West Virginia. High school students took part in the Manufacturing Innovation Challenge build-out, welding a hard hat and boots and building a table for the Explore office.
Carnegie Learning is busy tonight “preparing the field” for our ClearMath Boot Camp at East Dale Elementary School for our teachers and teaching assistants.
What a thank you for years of service to Marion County Schools, first as #5s on the basketball court and football field at Fairmont Senior and East Fairmont high schools as students and then a career of leadership as school-level administrators and administrative assistants. Marion County Schools was represented well at the Dirty Birds Baseball Game Changer Women At Bat tonight with North Marion Alumni Natalie Tennant, the first female WVU Mountaineer and first female Kanawha County Commissioner. Marion County Superintendent Dr. Heston was also recognized with women nominated from across the state who are shaping their communities through leadership, service, and impact.
The tradition continues, straight back to 1938, in Marion County at East-West Stadium, which hosts the longest-running high school football rivalry in the State for over 100 years. We are getting closer and closer to opening her back up to our students and the community.

Members of Blackshere Elementary School staff are ready to start Day 1 at the Rob Clark Academy Experience to build upon improvement of learning strategies and resources for student growth.
Grey skies above but nothing but two shades of beautiful bright blue at your feet on East-West Stadium turf. Tradition is revived as the legacy, dating back to 1938, is remembered when progress continues with the turf project. Getting closer and it's music to our ears!

Outdoor Wonder Lab (OWL)—a brand-new, weeklong adventure for rising 5th & 6th graders in West Virginia! 🌲🔬
This unique program is a partnership between WVU’s Science Adventure School and the National Youth Science Academy in Davis, WV. Only 13 students will be accepted into this pilot experience, blending outdoor exploration with hands-on science in the mountains of WV.
