The State of West Virginia enters into a partnership with Tutor.com to provide expert online tutoring, test prep, and job support for WV public library patrons across the state. TutorWV.com is available daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at no cost for West Virginians of all ages.
Governor Jim Justice invites all students in Grades K-12 to participate in the 2024 Almost Heaven Governor's Art Exhibition. Designed to showcase student creativity and the arts, this year's exhibition is a call for one-of-a-kind postcard designs illustrating star gazing at your favorite West Virginia park or public lands. Selected postcard artwork will later be used by the West Virginia Department of Tourism to personally invite travelers to Almost Heaven. ARTS ALIVE POSTER SUBMISSIONS: Poster submissions for Arts Alive 2024 are now being accepted. Students in Grades 6-12 are encouraged to submit an entry. See: https://wvde.us/middle-secondary-learning/the-arts/arts-alive/poster/. The winning poster will become the marketing voice for the 2024 Arts Alive as the program cover and will be professionally printed, framed, and presented to the student winner at the Arts Alive Main Stage Event on April 26, 2024. Additionally, the winning poster will be hung in the permanent gallery of posters at the WVDE, and the top three posters will be featured in the Great Hall of the Culture Center on the night of the show. All submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024.
The West Virginia PTA is proud to announce that five $500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors in 2024. Scholarships will be presented to all winners in April of 2024. See:

In honor of Veterans Day, Marion County Schools will be closed to observe the federal holiday on Friday, November 10, 2023. Previously known as Armistice Day, it is observed annually to honor military veterans that served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Marion County Technical Center DECA held One Night Without A Home to raise awareness of homelessness and hunger last night. They collected non-perishable food and personal hygiene items that will be distributed to local food pantries and will fill area blessing boxes.
